"Campers Entering a Forest" - Etching by Eugene Higgins

By the American painter and printmaker Eugene Higgins (1874-1958). Influenced by French Realist painters such as Honoré Daumier and Jean-François Millet, Higgins portrayed working class people in his images. "Campers Entering a Forest" (circa 1917) was also a subject he depicted as a painting. Higgins's etchings and paintings are in the collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, among others.

The print is titled lower left and signed lower right. It comes in a black wood frame with plexiglass.

Condition notes:
In overall good condition. Watermarks to interior matting but the actual etching is in sound shape. Tear to back paper cover of frame. Scuffs and scratches to wood frame.
