Thierry Despont Lithograph Portfolio of Rimbaud's Poem "Le Bateau Ivre"

A first-edition portfolio of lithographs by the artist & architect Thierry Despont. Published by in 1992 by Thornwillow Press. This portfolio is unique in that Despont has signed the title page, with a dedication to two friends. Despont's lithograph illustrations interpret Arthur Rimbaud's poem "Le Bateau Ivre" in rich and painterly gestures. The poem is letterpress printed in the original French and translated into English by Louis Varèse. There are 28 illustrations overall, printed beautifully on 29 folders and presented in a black clamshell box.

The lithograph illustrations are in great condition. The clamshell box has external scuffs and marks but overall is in good condition.
