19th C. Hand-Colored Engraved Illustrations by Octaiven Dalvimart - a Set of 7

A set of 7 engraved illustrations for "The Costume of Turkey", a book from a series by William Miller published circa 1802. Each illustration is based off of drawings by Octavien Dalvimart and later engraved and hand-colored for the book. They depict figures in traditional attire and are accompanied by text, which describes their social roles as well as details of their clothing. Each plate is signed by Dalvimart, dated and watermarked. The set is presented in black wood frames with gilt trimming. On the back of 6 of the frames are the accompanying descriptive texts.

Frame dimensions:
15.25" width, 18.5" height, 1" depth

Condition notes:
In good condition. Discoloration and small, minor wrinkle marks all consistent with the pieces' age and use. Repaired dent and chipping to small area of frame. Overall in great shape and structurally sound.
