Antique Chinese Four-Panel Coromandel Folding Screen

A stunning Chinese folding screen. Hand-crafted in the Late 19th-Early 20th Century. The screen is comprised of four hinged wood panels with lacquered coromandel. The panels' design is exquisitely rendered in intaglio and painted in with enamel. What unfolds on these panels is a stunning, elaborate courtyard scene of detailed architecture, blossomed trees, and people engaged in conversation. In the distance is a pastoral landscape of mountains and rivers, while at the bottom of the panels are still-life tableaus. A floral border frames the entire picture.
