Early 19th Century Gustavian Daybed

This Gustavian daybed was originally a sofa, handcrafted in the early 19th Century in Sweden. It has a simple Neoclassical design. The painted wood has aged beautifully, accruing rich textures and a patina of grays and beiges. The back panel has been replaced and left untreated. The seating is a cream-white linen.
