Kai Kristiansen Teak Easy Chairs With Custom Shearling Upholstery - a Pair

These two lounge chairs were designed by Kai Kristiansen for the Danish company Magnus Olesen in the 1950s. They're comprised of slatted teak wood frame and wire seat support. The new custom upholstery is a warm tan, curly shearling from Skandilock. Kristiansen's design is exceptional for its dynamic lines. The apt name "paper-knife" refers to the woodwork of the arms, which taper at the centre and slope toward the rear legs, creating elegant, streamlined silhouette. The back of the seat is slanted and the rear legs are splayed. These are comfortable and beautiful chairs in great condition.
