Landscape Painting by M.T. Embree

A charming landscape painted by M.T. Embree, circa 1940s. The painting is oil on canvas board. It is framed in a silver-painted wood frame. The landscape is idyllic: trees in the foreground and a path lead to a clay-hued house. Its background is a tranquil sky and sea in a palette of blues. Embree appears to have used a palette knife to apply thick layers of paint onto the canvas, giving the painting a sensuously tactile quality.

On the back, Embree's signature is at the lower left corner. There's also information on the painting's provenance, both stamped and hand-written.
