Mid-19th Century Chinese Camphor Chest

A very finely crafted antique trunk or chest from China, hand-made in the Mid-19th Century. The chest is comprised of camphor wood with a rich, warm tone. It has a hinged lid and two bail handles at each side. The brass binding and trim are expertly made and give the chest a subtle decorative element. Among the features we love about this chest is the honey-brown finish and the organic aging of the camphor. A custom wood stand is a 20th Century addition. Overall this is a beautiful case piece that exudes the history of an heirloom.
