Pair of 1940s Sapphire Silk Easy Chairs by Frits Henningsen

An elegant pair of easy chairs designed by Frits Henningsen. Denmark, 1940s. The chairs are comprised of mahogany. They are button-tufted and newly reupholstered in a fine, sapphire-blue silk. Henningsen's design brings together the smooth lines of Midcentury Danish Modern furniture with the more curved, classical styles of 19th Century furniture. These are present in the rounded, fluted arms and the soft arc of the back.
