Pair of Tall 1940sImari Ceramic Table Lamps

An exceptional pair of Imari table lamps. Hand-crafted in the 1940s. Influenced by the bold colors of Arati ware from Japan. This pair is comprised of hand-painted ceramic vase bodies decorated in a palette of red, yellow, orange, white, blue, and green. The central design is of a lush bouquet set against a white ground and flanked by two fantastical birds. Throughout the surface of the lamps are stylized branches, stems, leaves, and flowers. The vase body is set on a wooden base, while the cap and stem are brass. The lamps are newly rewired and consist of two bulb sockets. A push switch is built into the brass cap.
