This large Chinese Chippendale-style giltwood mirror was hand-crafted in the Late 19th Century. Typical of the style, the frame's open-work design brings together Rococo and Chinoiserie elements, including acanthus flourishes. The goal is to astonish and this mirror accomplishes that with its height, coloring, and elaborately carved details.
Dimensions:
32 in. width
64 in. height
2.5 in. thickness
Condition notes:
In overall good condition and structurally sound, with general surface wear to wood consistent with the mirror's age and use. Some paint residue on lower left side of mirror's surface. A piece of the frame's left side was recently repaired.
