18th Century George II Giltwood Wall Mirror

Handcrafted in the 18th Century, the frame of this tall George II wall mirror is made of giltwood and gesso. The front is decorated with carved vines and other ornate flourishes that culminate at the crest. The mirror itself consists of two beveled glass panels. Though this giltwood frame might be more subtle in ornamentation than in other George II mirrors, it nevertheless strikes an elegant and grand presence with its large frame.
