Made in the Mid-20th Century by an unknown Connecticut artist, this small abstract oil-on-canvas painting packs an incredible amount of color and texture. A harmony of blues, greens, and grays are applied in thick impasto and arranged to create the illusion of overlapping shapes. This arrangement creates a sense of transparency and brings to mind the works of Modernist painters like Josef Albers, with his exploration of optical color.
