1940s Danish Modern Sofa by Alfred Christensen in Ivory Bouclé

Exquisitely hand-crafted in the 1940s, this Danish Modern mahogany sofa was designed by Alfred Christensen for Slagelse Møbelværk. The sofa is characterized by Christensen’s signature mix of modern forms and traditional craftsmanship with a discerning eye for details: curved paddle arms, button-tufted back, and low fluted legs that culminate in brass caps. The sofa was recently reupholstered in a contemporary ivory bouclé from Schumacher, while the wood has been lacquered and refinished, giving the mahogany a warm dark-brown tone.
