Early 19th Century Regency Mahogany Sideboard With Ebony Inlays

Exquisitely hand-crafted in 1815, this Regency era sideboard is mahogany with ebony inlays, parcel gilt features, and brass ornamentation and keyholes. The mahogany has a rich, warm red-brown tone complemented by the darker decorative features. Structurally the sideboard consists of three pieces: a long tabletop and two plinth bases. A pair of ebony lion heads that culminate in cabriole feet adorn the facade of the plinths. This sideboard offers ample storage space: at top are three pull-out drawers and in each plinth, a hinged door opens to shelved cabinets. Truly a fine piece of cabinetry, the sideboard is a stately centerpiece.
