Late 19th Century Mahogany Cabinet

This hand-crafted Victorian mahogany cabinet was made in the Late 19th Century. Departing from more ornate designs typical of Victorian furniture, the chest is characterized by simple, straight lines. There are six doors designed with recessed facades, each trimmed with a center brass rectangle. Structurally, there are three tiers of vertical storage spaces. Each door opens to a cupboard furbished with shelves as a later modification. The mahogany wood body has aged beautifully over the years. It has a rich tan-orange hue. The cornice and base were a later addition and have a darker tone that complements the mahogany beautifully.

Dimensions:
38.5 in. width
23.5 in. depth
76.25 in. height (with cornice)
71.5 in. height (without cornice)

Condition notes:
In overall good condition and structurally sound with general surface wear to wood that's consistent with the cabinet's age and use. As mentioned above, the cornice and base were a later addition.
