This antique William & Mary chest of drawers was hand-crafted from black oak wood in the 18th Century. The wood has a warm red-brown tone and has aged beautifully, accruing a textured patina. While the overall design is characterized by simple lines, there are nevertheless decorative elements that showcase the fine craftsmanship and woodwork of the artisans. Here the facade of the drawers are adorned with hand-carved moulding and brass teardrop pulls (which may have been a later addition to the design). Overall there are four full-length drawers in varying heights, providing ample storage space. The chest rests on carved bracket feet that add a bit of lift and space to the overall design.
