Mid-20th Century Paolo Buffa Walnut Armchairs - A Set of 4

A set of four chairs by Paolo Buffa, hand-crafted in the 1950s. They are walnut with olive-green velvet upholstery. Buffa did not have a singular style, but a common characteristic runs throughout his designs: airy, light, and beautifully sculpted features produced by a mix of traditional and modern techniques. These chairs have smooth, serpentine arms that transition into tapered front legs, while the back legs are tapered and slightly splayed. With their easy proportions, these chairs are versatile and can be used in many different interiors.

The upholstery is original and has seen some wear over the decades. These chairs are a great candidate for reupholstery work and restoration.

Dimensions of each chair:
21.5 in. width
19 in. depth
31 in. height
23.5 in. arm height
17 in. seat height
17 in. seat depth
14 in. floor clearance

Condition notes:
In overall fair condition and structurally sound. Scuffs and wear to wood and thinning to velvet, all consistent with the chairs' age and use. While they are fine as is, the chairs are a great candidate for restoration and reupholstery work.
